Chance UK is a specialist early intervention mentoring organisation working with 5-11 year olds with behavioural difficulties. The majority of children worked with have been excluded from school or are at risk of exclusion at the time of referral Sir John Cass’s Foundation is supporting Chance UK to improve the quality of their service and increase the measurement of impact.
The Foundation’s grant will support the cost of mentoring seven children and their families living in the London Borough of Hackney. The Foundation is supporting Chance UK under the Behaviour, Truancy and Exclusion stream of funding. The children and their families being mentored in Hackney will be part of the Randomised Controlled Trial. During the trial, in addition to the using the Goodman Strengths & Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ), Chance UK will be using three other outcome measures for the children and two non-outcome measures that will help them to better understand the reasons for the outcomes achieved.
