The Making learning real project will equip every classroom at the Sir John Cass’s Foundation Primary School with the latest technology to enable teachers and children to utilise IT purposefully and to enhance the learning experience for every child. The Foundation has awarded a grant that will enable the school to install the latest interactive whiteboard technology, high specification teaching walls and visualisers to display children’s work, drawing and other documents in real time. Interactive whiteboards are widely acknowledged to have a positive impact on motivation for learning, especially amongst boys and have positive impacts on pupil progress. They also enable the use of creative approaches across the curriculum such as the use of film technology to support subject areas.

The project will improve teaching quality by building the capacity of teachers to be consistently outstanding. As a result of the grant will help to raise standards, especially in English and Mathematics. In addition teachers will enhance their professional skills and knowledge through the use of this new technology.
