The Share Foundation celebrates achievements with event at the House of Lords

In 2013, Sir John Cass’s Foundation supported the Share Foundation to launch its Junior ISAs programme for children and young people in care. The grant from the Foundation increased the amount of money in the ISA accounts of young people in inner London boroughs. In particular all Looked After Children not in receipt of support under the Child Trust Fund initiative, in the London Boroughs of Newham and Hackney. The Foundation was on of the first contributors to this new government scheme and was pleased to work with Ed Timpson MP, Minister of State for Children and Families.

The Junior ISAs scheme helps to provide young people in care with the encouragement and financial support they need to make progress with their lives, as well as helping give them a much wider choice of options and enabling them to progress into education, employment and training.

On the 13th October 2015 the Share Foundation hosted an event at the House of Lords to celebrate its achievements to date, having reached 70,000 young people in care.
