Richard Foley, Chief Executive was delighted to confirm The Rt. Hon Ruth Kelly’s appointment as the eighth Special Adviser to the Foundation.
Ms Kelly’s current position as Pro Vice Chancellor (Research & Enterprise) at St Mary’s University, Twickenham, her pivotal role in bringing the First Star Academy model to the UK to support the educational attainment of Looked After Children and as former Secretary of State for Education makes her a unique and esteemed appointment as a Foundation Special Adviser.
The Foundation is committed to maintaining and developing its position as an influential organisation, contributing to educational policy, practice and research in order to shape and meet the evolving needs of London’s young people. The Special Advisers each bring valuable experience and expertise to guide and support the Foundation’s impact across the education sector.
Ms Kelly joins our current cohort of Special Advisers who include; Professor Lord Patel of Bradford OBE, Sir Paul Jenkins KCB QC (Hon), Baroness Sandip Verma, Professor David Rhind CBE, Peter Williams CBE, Sir Cyril Taylor GBE and Professor the Lord Hennessy of Nympsfield FBA.
