Last year, Sir John Cass’s Foundation awarded a grant of over £6,000 to the Westway Trust towards their 3 year project – Stable Way Homework Club.

Westway Trust is a charity committed to enhancing the 23 acres of space under the Westway flyover to benefit local people, making it a great environment to live, work, play and visit. The land around Stable Way, west London, has proved a popular stopping place for Gypsies and Travellers for centuries and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea continues to be a highly diverse borough with different cultures and ethnic backgrounds.

The Stable Way Homework Club funds specialist support to the traveller children of the community to help them to become school ready by improving their communication and language skills. Its aim is to build upon existing work with travellers and provide children with opportunities to undertake creative and artistic activities.

The Foundation has a long, and proud, history of bringing young people from all backgrounds into education and it is delighted to be a part of this project.
